Job Description:
Don's Prepared Foods is the leading manufacturer on the East
Coast of prepared gourmet deli salads, gourmet cream cheese
spreads, dips, entr--e's and more.Don's is a family-owned business
and manufactures over 130 products spanning across its three brands
Don's Salads, Melanie's Medleys and Artisan Deli. We are currently
hiring a Customer Service / Transportation Assistant at our
Schwenksville, PA food manufacturing plant. Job responsibility:To
assist with scheduling transportation, delivery appointments for
customer orders. Manage customer documents. Answer and properly
disperse all incoming phone calls as well as receiving all visitors
to the plant with other clerical work. Customer
Service/Shipping:Schedule delivery appointments for customer
orders.Retrieve customer orders from EDI.Handle customer
complaints, fill out the complaint form & give it to QA for review.
Contact customers concerning shorted items and when the items will
be available to ship.Process daily Finished Good inventory into
company computer system.Investigate & fix Finished Goods inventory
issues.Process customer orders to shipment. Entering customer
orders received via phone, fax, email & EDI. Communicate to the
Operations Manager and Finished Goods Warehouse Supervisor when
certain orders are received.Email or fax order confirmation to
customers, brokers and sales reps. Administrative:Provide support
to staff and management, including handling correspondence,
preparing documentsupdating spreadsheets for KPI tracking and used
by accounting.Answers the phone, directs calls to the appropriate
person, takes or relays messages, gives directions to the plant,
and assists with questions and provides information. Make phone
calls when necessary.Carrying out clerical duties such as answering
phone calls, responding to emails, scanning and shredding
documents.Greet customers and visitors enforcing the Visitation
Policy and signing in / out policy.Greets interviewees and new
employees, notifies proper interviewer or manager.Monitor visitors'
access and maintain security awareness.Operates a computer to
enter, retrieve, review or modify data; Word, Excel, Internet,
Outlook and other software programs.Back up to inventory and
ordering of office & breakroom supplies.Assist in mailing, faxing,
filing, scanning or copying. Competencies:Must be self-motivated
and have an outgoing personality with excellent people skills.
Provides exceptional customer service and uses prompt and
responsive follow-through. Excellent phone skills and taking phone
etiquette very seriously. Ability to manage more than one call at a
time. Knowledge of and the ability to follow all established
emergency procedures, especially the responsibility to call 911 in
the event of an emergency. Able to be an active listener and relay
information accurately to others. Strong interpersonal skills being
courteous and helpful.Prioritizes, plans, and uses time
efficiently. Demonstrates a high level of accuracy and
thoroughness, monitors own work to ensure quality and applies
feedback to improve performance. Meet deadlines. Adapts to changes,
manages demand and can deal with frequent changes, delays, or
