leader with relevant experience and skills to join our team of
transportation and logistics professionals. The Manager of Dock
Operations will facilitate standardization, drive continuous
improvement, implement best practices, and lead operational
initiatives across the shared auto cross-dock network while meeting
our Penske goals and objectives. Position Summary: The Manager of
Dock Operations will connect with local operations within the
Dedicated Contract Carriage-Transportation (DCC) product line,
Distribution Center Management-Warehouse (DCM) product line,
material handling, IT, and DCC leadership; and enhance consistency
with regard to efficiency, productivity, and customer service. This
position contributes to the growth, retention, and profitability of
customer accounts by increasing operational execution and
efficiencies. Major Responsibilities: Facilitate Standard Operating
Procedures, Standard Procurement Practices, and Standard branding
and facilities for DCC Cross docks with alignment to DCM Product
line. • Facilitate Standard Operating Procedures for Cross Docks •
Identify and Coordinate procurement of proper Material Handling
Equipment • Facilitate application of standard branding to current
sites • Conduct routine assessments and audits of processes and
facilities to ensure compliance • Standardize & Facilitate dock
worker onboarding with support of operations and HR • Provide
guidance on labor scheduling and design Support Cross dock
Implementations, shutdowns, and special projects: • Ensure
implementation of proper dock scanning process. • Support creation
of site-specific operational signage and align with brand
standardization. • Provide support on onboarding and implementation
of new customers. • Provide Project Management as needed.
Coordinate Support Services & Functional groups to drive continuous
improvements. • Collaborate with DCM on new process improvements to
support business requirements. • Collaborate with Safety to
facilitate Practices & Standards strategy. • Facilitate & Support
Lean Certification process with Support of PQS team. • Collaborate
with IT on automation and data integrity strategy. Develop,
monitor, and evaluate action plans for underperforming locations.
(Financial and service level performance). • Conduct Time Studies
and Evaluations of Processes • Coordinate Project Plan & Support
Teams Qualifications: • 5+ years related functional experience in
warehouse and/or supply chain required • 2+ years managerial or
supervisory experience required • High School degree or equivalent
required • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or
related degree preferred • Proficiency with computers including
Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint required •
Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint skills • Understand & facilitate
standard operating procedures, process improvement methodologies •
Good organization skills • Financial acumen • Ability to
understand, interpret, and present analytics and metrics. • Ability
to influence and understand customer needs, gather information, and
make a recommendation • Executive presence and presentation skills
• Full understanding of field operations • Collaboration skills
required, must act as a liaison to multiple internal groups •
Strong written/oral communication including the ability to present
in front of others, and demonstrate active listening skills are
required • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required
schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske
