Position Summary
The CNC Machinist must be able to read and work from blueprints, as
well as program, set up and operate CNC lathes and/or mills.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
--- Setup and operate CNC Lathe using programs generated in Master
Cam.
--- Edit and optimize CNC Lathe programs for efficiency.
--- Machine basic fixtures, and tooling to meet machining
requirements.
--- Measure and examine completed parts to ensure conformance to
specifications using precision measuring instruments.
--- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machine shop
equipment.
--- Operate and rig material handling equipment (overhead cranes,
gantries, forklifts).
--- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
--- High school diploma or equivalent.
--- One to three years formal training (vocation or technical
school).
--- Five years previous experience in a machine shop and three
years CNC machine operation.
--- Must have own basic machinist's tools for machine setup and
inspection.
--- Proficiency in blueprint reading and machining techniques.
--- Familiar with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
--- Ability to set up and operate CNC lathes.
--- Experience in Master Cam programming is a plus.
--- CNC Vertical and/or Horizontal Machining Centers experience is
a plus.
