Job Description:
System 6 is an internally developed and supported insurance
system for processing insurance products and policies aimed at
individuals and families worldwide. As a Software Engineer with
System 6, you will be a member of a team of skilled technical
professionals across the globe who are responsible for the
development and maintenance of the system. These professionals are
a mix of Chubb employees in the US and India as well as Accenture
employees. This role is suitable for a seasoned developer
possessing expertise and a proven track record with the Microsoft
technology stack. The Software Engineer is expected to not only
create highly testable and maintainable code, but also demonstrate
outstanding competence in requirements analysis and solution
design. The System 6 team works in a fast-paced environment,
developing and supporting a complex system that’s used daily by
over 50 countries globally. This position requires the ability to
work and communicate efficiently and effectively amidst a
constantly shifting landscape of requests and priorities. You will
be expected to show a high degree of personal initiative and the
capacity to work independently. At the same time, being open to
feedback and collaboration with a tight-knit team is critical to
success in this role. Responsibilities Work independently, or with
other team members and the regional program leads, to analyze new
requirements, problems, and business processes, and to design
appropriate solutions. Develop new functionality for System 6 using
the Microsoft development tools and technology stack and ensure
that it is thoroughly unit tested and of high quality. Develop a
strong working knowledge of System 6 billing and downstream
financial reporting processes to provide guidance and production
support to North America and Latin America. Work with the regional
and local IT systems teams on projects and provide support for
various production issues encountered across all regions, with a
particular focus on North America and Latin America support. Assist
in the creation, iterative development, and maintenance of
automated deployment models (DevOps, CI/CD pipeline). Ensure that
new application features and functions are developed, tested, and
deployed on a regular basis and that this overall process is
consistently targeted for improvement. Adhere to Chubb IT policies
and procedures, ensuring that security and architecture standards
are followed and implemented in System 6. Demonstrate leadership
and a capacity to drive results. All individual contributors on the
team are given opportunities to assume ownership of one or more
R&D initiatives as needed. Engage in continual technical
development – stay abreast of the latest technological trends in
Azure, SQL, .NET, front-end frameworks, etc., and ensure that
System 6 continues to be at the leading edge of technology.
Bachelor’s degree required. 10 – 15 years in a technical
development position. 5 – 10 years developing solutions in .NET and
a strong understanding of the .NET landscape is considered
essential for this role. A working knowledge of Microsoft Entity
Framework is also desirable. Proficiency in designing and
developing RESTful APIs. 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL
Server 2016 and above, including experience with T-SQL development
and proficiency in SQL query optimization, indexing strategies and
database design to enhance performance of data retrieval and
application efficiency. Experience in SSIS is desirable, and any
experience as SQL DBA is a plus. Experience with software design
best-practices, including SOLID principles, design patterns, and
test-driven development. A working knowledge of one or more of the
following: Angular, Bootstrap, and jQuery. Experience with Azure
