Job Details Description The Department of Obstetrics and
Gynecology is hiring for a Full Time Sonographer! When you choose

staff. Position Summary Perform high-quality obstetric and
gynecologic ultrasound examinations and procedures. Become
well-trained in the use and daily maintenance of the ultrasound
imaging and recording system used in the department. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. - For gynecologic
ultrasound examinations and procedures: Sets up ultrasound and
procedure equipment; positions patient appropriately; operates
ultrasound with or without physician guidance when appropriate
(including but not limited to SIS) - For obstetric ultrasound
examinations and procedures: Sets up ultrasound and procedure
equipment; positions patient appropriately; operates ultrasound
with or without physician guidance when appropriate (including but
not limited to, amniotic fluid assessment, fetal viability, limited
– detailed – and complete obstetric ultrasound, biometry and fetal
wellbeing assessments, fetal Doppler studies, fetal
echocardiograms, CVS, amniocentesis, first-trimester screening).
Processes and labels samples for laboratory submission. - Generates
reports on examinations and procedures and ensures that they are
sent to the referring physician. - Submits billing for patients
with appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures. - Demonstrates
techniques and procedures to students and residents as assigned
through the Department of OB/GYN. - Performs decontamination on
equipment. Minimum Qualifications Education - Graduation from an
accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Licensure -
Current and valid certification in Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF)
to perform first-trimester nuchal translucency for risk assessment
must be obtained within one year of hire. - Current and valid
certification in OB/GYN with the American Registry for Diagnostic
Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Experience - A minimum of 2 years of
experience as an Ultrasound Technologist. Physical Requirements -
Stand, walk, and reach above the shoulder frequently in a clinical
setting. - Must be able to occasionally lift and carry or push and
pull up to 100 lbs. as part of the role - Regularly exposed to
healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
- Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard,
calculator, copier machine, and other equipment. About GW MFA MFA
