Job Description Job Description We are seeking qualified
candidates for the Residential Living Specialist position . The
Residential Living Specialist provides care and supervision to all
assigned residents, ensuring a safe, healthy, secure, and pleasant
environment that promotes and reinforces resident growth and
development. The RLS assists in the design and implementation of
the Individual Recovery Plans and documents participant progress as
they move through the service delivery system. The RLS advocates
for resident growth toward independence in self-care, daily living
skills, socialization, and community living. Other
Responsibilities, but not all-inclusive: Provide all assigned
participants with their basic needs and assist with skill
development in the following areas: social support, food
management, self-care, personal hygiene, relapse prevention,
medication management, stress management techniques, money
management, public transportation utilization, and participation in
meaningful and planned community activities. • Ensure participants
are transported to assigned programs, appointments, and/or
destinations. May arrange for transportation and/or accompany
participants to appointments. • Administer medications consistent
with participants’ self-medication plans, in accordance with State
and Agency medication administration regulations. Inventory
medications and complete all appropriate forms, as assigned. Must
successfully complete the agency’s medication administration
training. Qualifications: · A.A. degree in the social sciences or
health care related field and one year of relevant experience in
the MH/MR field or High school diploma and two years experience in
the mental health field; or any combination of experience,
education or training that would provide the level of knowledge,
skill and ability required. · Demonstrated crisis
intervention/prevention and de-escalation skills required. · Good
communication skills, both oral & written. · Ability to work
independently and as part of a team. · Required to possess a valid
driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Scope: ·
Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack,
stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention with
participants. · Assist participants with transferring from bed to
chair, chair to shower, and other similar movements. · Frequent
talking and listening. · May require crisis intervention in
emergencies. · Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills. ·
May be required to report to work during emergencies, including
