Facility Information Facility: GSS ND Mandan Sunset Location: Mandan, ND Address: 1011 Boundary Street Northwest, Mandan, ND 58554, USA Shift: 8 Hours - Day Shifts Job Schedule: Full-time Weekly Hours: 40.00 Salary Range: $20.00 - $29.50 Pay Info: $5000 Sign-On Bonus Job Summary The Senior Nursing Assistant (NA) acts as a skilled caregiver for residents during their scheduled shifts in long-term care. This role requires a high level of expertise as a certified nursing assistant and involves supporting other staff members as necessary. The NA is responsible for delivering resident-focused nursing care and assisting with daily living activities under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN). This includes understanding and addressing the physical and psychological needs of residents according to their care plans. As a vital member of the nursing team, the NA is accountable for adhering to infection prevention protocols and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). This position often involves supporting other clinical staff while managing individual responsibilities and leading problem-solving efforts. Key responsibilities include: Assisting with essential health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, and recording vital signs. Providing psychosocial support and personal care to assigned residents. Helping residents with mobility, including transferring, repositioning, and walking, using appropriate techniques and equipment. Facilitating a positive dining experience by assisting with meals and snacks, and providing hydration and nutritional supplements. Supporting nursing staff with procedures as needed and documenting resident interactions and care outcomes. Communicating any changes in residents' conditions to the charge nurse. Collecting non-invasive body fluid samples and vital signs. Maintaining cleanliness in residents' living areas through housekeeping and laundry services. Encouraging resident participation in wellness and recreational programs. Participating in departmental committees and task forces as required. Completing tasks related to the Restorative Nursing program, including documentation and scheduling. Qualifications High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not mandatory. Minimum age of 16 years. Two years of clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care is preferred. Must possess a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification from the State Board of Nursing. Completion of annual department-specific competency testing and maintenance of continuing education credits, with a minimum of 12 hours required each year. Must maintain all required department certifications. Completion of Restorative Nursing training may be required within six months. For applicable states, certification and registration with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry may be necessary. Depending on facility requirements, this role may be classified as a Sanford Category II Driver, necessitating a motor vehicle report and valid driver’s license. Must meet medical qualifications for essential driving functions as per organizational policy.
