Cardiothoracic Physician Assistant Job Details Location: Atlantic City, NJ 08401 (New Jersey healthcare jobs) Setting: Inpatient / Hospital-based Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel contract for physician assistants) Assignment Duration: 13 weeks Shifts: Varied (Weekday, weekend, and night call coverage) Shift Length: 12-hour rotating shifts Estimated Weekly Salary: $3480–$4130 Patient Volume: Operate on 2 patients/day; round on 5–12 patients/day (ICU and floor) EMR System: Cerner Physician Assistant Qualifications 2–3 years of recent experience as a physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery Proficiency in Endoscopic Vein Harvesting (EVH) and first assist in cardiac surgery Active NCCPA Certification (required for PA jobs) Current New Jersey Physician Assistant License (required for New Jersey healthcare roles) CSR (Controlled Substance Registration) – required Experience with Cerner EMR preferred Key Responsibilities First assist in cardiothoracic and cardiac surgery procedures Endoscopic retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit Chest tube insertions and post-operative care Rounding on ICU and floor patients, providing clinical support Coordinate patient care and consults with multidisciplinary healthcare teams Diagnose and treat illnesses in a hospital setting Order and interpret diagnostic tests for cardiac patients Write prescriptions and perform suture removal Apply now to join our Atlantic City healthcare team as a locum tenens physician assistant in cardiothoracic surgery.
