Alternative Fuels Technician Renewable Energy Infrastructure
Services Salary: $28.00–$38.00 per hour, based on experience Our
client On behalf of our client, this opportunity is for an
Alternative Fuels Technician to join a growing team focused on
designing, building, and maintaining advanced renewable and
alternative energy fueling infrastructure in the Carneys Point, NJ
area. This full-time, day-shift role (Monday through Friday)
supports a network of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Renewable
Natural Gas (RNG) fueling stations across the region.? In this
position, you will ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient
operation of mechanical and electrical systems across multiple site
locations. This includes troubleshooting, performing preventive
maintenance, conducting inspections, and completing component
replacements as needed to optimize station performance and uptime.?
The ideal candidate High school diploma or GED; additional
technical training or certification in mechanical, electrical, or
industrial systems is an asset. Approximately 3–5 years of
experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, or gas
compression systems, ideally with exposure to CNG, RNG, LNG or LCNG
equipment. Hands-on experience with compressors, dryers, storage
vessels, dispensers, valves, and control systems. Ability to
interpret electrical schematics and diagnose issues involving
motors, wiring, relays, frequency drives, sensors, and PLC logic.
Comfortable using maintenance or service software, along with
strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong
troubleshooting, documentation, and time management skills with
high attention to detail and safety. Valid driver's license with an
acceptable driving record and willingness to travel between sites
as needed. Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs., work at heights
or in confined areas, and operate in varying outdoor weather
conditions. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive
maintenance, inspections, and repairs on CNG and RNG station
equipment, including compressors, pumps, dryers, storage, and
dispensing systems. Inspect, maintain, and adjust electrical
components such as wiring, panels, switches, sensors, motors, and
control devices to ensure safe and proper operation. Inspect,
maintain, and adjust mechanical systems including piping, tubing,
valves, filters, intercoolers, heat exchangers, and associated
hardware. Diagnose and correct faulty mechanical and electrical
components, restoring systems to proper operating condition in
accordance with procedures and technical documentation. Record and
review operational data such as pressures, temperatures, fluid
levels, and electrical readings, identifying trends and
implementing corrective action when needed. Document all work
performed, parts used, and recommendations in digital work order
systems and service reports. Maintain fueling locations to a high
standard of cleanliness and appearance, including light general
maintenance around equipment and enclosures. Participate in an
on-call rotation, with occasional after-hours or overtime work to
support urgent service needs. What's in it for you? Hourly wage
