Job Description Job Description Diesel Equipment Mechanic We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our MANASSAS team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on our large inventory of heavy-duty rental equipment. Salary: $27 to $40/hr (Based on Experience) Full-Time, First Shift (730-5p) Monday–Friday, with Overtime Available (paid for anything over 8hrs/day) We’re looking for skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanics to join our growing team. You’ll work on a wide range of heavy-duty machines: keeping our equipment in top shape through regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections. NOT a mobile mechanic job – enjoy being indoors instead of out in the elements! What You’ll Do: Inspect, clean, service, and repair diesel-powered equipment (loaders, excavators, trucks, etc.). Perform regular preventive maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, etc.) Prep returned equipment for its next use or lease Use various tools, diagnostic software, and heavy equipment to Troubleshoot and fix issues with engines, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics PLEASE NOTE: You MUST HAVE some experience working on construction equipment and/or rental type equipment (more than “just” a vehicle mechanic) PLEASE DO NOT APPLY without at least some of this experience. What You’ll Need: At least 5 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and/or heavy equipment Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems Ability to diagnose problems and work independently or with a team Must own a suitable set of tools Familiarity with Service ADVISOR, Cummins Insite or similar diagnostic tools is a plus. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience Must be able to pass a basic background check and drug screen.
