This position will support specialized communications programs and their associated infrastructure. You will need to quickly understand complex technical concepts, make assessments, and articulate your recommendations to the customer. Previous experience working on-site to support the Department of Defense (DoD) and the IC is highly desirable. The AI/ML SME will be asked to provide technical expertise to support a variety of tasks to include, but not limited to: Work closely and support electrical/electronic engineers in developing new capabilities for programming and integrating customized models and algorithms for specific use cases. Design AI algorithms and models for edge processing in devices, products, software, and components for specific applications. Provide guidance and advise on Large and Small Language Modeling. Produce and provide supporting documentation, including user manuals and all design files related to newly developed projects. Recommend design and testing modifications. Analyze customer needs to determine costs, capacity, and requirements. Create testing procedures and maintenance for electronic equipment and microelectronic and edge processing components. Collaborate with diverse teams to include engineers, end-users, testing and evaluation technicians, and technology experts for product design, improve functionality, problem solving, and trouble shooting. Minimum Requirements: Must have active TS/SCI security clearance and be willing and able to obtain CI Polygraph. Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, electrical engineering, statistics, or other relevant technical area. 8 years of professional experience developing AI/ML technology. Preferred Skills: Advanced degree in technical field of study. Experience working on-site at a customer location. Experience working in DOD / IC. SME level knowledge and experience with AI/ML. Ability to communicate complex concepts and topics to a variety of audiences. Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, Scala, TypeScript, and C++. Being well-versed in languages such as Python and R is key. Extensive knowledge of probability, statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. A solid understanding of mathematics and statistics is crucial to develop and refine algorithmic models. This includes proficiency in areas such as linear algebra, calculus, and probability. Understanding of algorithmic models such as Naive Bayes, linear discriminant analysis, Hidden Markov, and Gaussian mixture models. Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Apache Spark, Cassandra, and MongoDB. Problem-solving skills. From fine-tuning algorithms to optimizing models, ability to dissect and resolve issues is paramount. It's this skill that transforms theoretical knowledge into practical solutions. Familiarity with frameworks and development tools. Knowing how to deploy AI algorithms and models is crucial. Platforms like AWS, Azure, and Heroku provide infrastructure for model deployment. Teamwork: Projects often demand collaboration with diverse teams, including data scientists, engineers, and business analysts. The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
