Controller - Small Construction Company Location: Fells Point, Baltimore, MD Salary: Up to 100K Bonus Industry: Construction Employment Type: Full-Time Are you a hands-on accounting leader who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment? A small but rapidly expanding construction company in the Fells Point area of Baltimore is seeking a Controller to lead its financial operations and help drive continued success. About Us Founded in 2010 by two local entrepreneurs, the company specializes in architectural metal fabrication for both residential and commercial clients. They are a full-scope provider of miscellaneous metals for the commercial construction industry and have built their reputation by delivering high-quality craftsmanship and complete, turnkey fabrication solutions. The Role As Controller , you will be a key member of our leadership team, overseeing all aspects of the company's financial management. You'll be responsible for everything from day-to-day accounting operations to strategic financial planning and reporting. Responsibilities Manage all accounting operations: AP/AR, general ledger, payroll, job costing, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate job costing and financial tracking Support leadership in strategic planning, cost analysis, and financial decision-making Work with external CPA on tax filings and audits Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) 5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably in construction or manufacturing Strong knowledge of job costing and project-based accounting Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Foundation, or similar) Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Comfortable working in a small, entrepreneurial environment where flexibility and initiative are valued What We Offer Competitive salary and performance-based bonus Health benefits, 401(k), and paid time off A supportive team culture with opportunities for growth The chance to be part of a company that's shaping the built environment of Baltimore LI-BK1 INMAY2025
